Community Supports

To support and enable Westmeath County Council, Westmeath County Development Board and Westmeath Community & Voluntary Forum in carrying out their missions, and to lead the Council’s work in community development and social inclusion programmes and initiatives.

Cathaoirleach Awards & Grants

Last year, Westmeath County Council distributed in excesses of €250,000 to community & voluntary groups in the form of grants and awards. Westmeath County Council will again be rolling out the Cathaoirleach Awards in 2012.

Christmas Lights Grant

Community and Voluntary organisations/Chambers of Commerce are invited to apply for assistance under the Christmas Lights Grants 2012

Clar Programme

CLÁR provides funding and co-funding to Local Authorities, State Agencies and Government Departments, to steer investment into the designated areas.

Pride of Place

The Council supports and coordinates the Pride Of Place programme at local level. All Ireland coordination is provided by Co-operation Ireland.

RAPID Programme

The Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development programme aims to improve the quality of life of residents of disadvantaged communities.

Social Inclusion

A series of positive actions to achieve equality of access to goods and services, to assist all individuals participate in their community and society.

Supporting Local Families

The Longford/Westmeath Parenting Partnership (LWPP) is offering the world acclaimed Triple-P Positive Parenting Programme FREE to all families with children
