Your Council
Welcome to "Your Council" Westmeath County Council, as a local authority, performs two roles:
- Representational Role
- Operational / Executive Role
The Representational Role is performed directly by the elected members of the Council.
The Operational / Executive Role is performed by the Council staff, under the leadership of the County Manager and the management team.
Business Support Service
Westmeath County Council has a key role to play in industrial development and enterprise as recognised in the County Development Plan
Meetings
The monthly meetings provide a general forum where your elected representatives discuss issues relevant to the well-being of the county.
